It is one of the most expensive materials in the world of Perfumery. The oud is a wood of Asian origin, also known as agar, in which the essence of the resin that the tree exudes when attacked by the fungus Phialophora parasitica is obtained.
The scent of OUDit is difficult to describe, it is a supernatural combination of several different and contradictory smells; smellsmossy wood coupled with a powerful animal tone like unpolished goatskin, a memory of rose petals about to rot and all sprayed with gasoline and mothballs.
